As HVPTO wraps up the 2025-26 school year, we want to thank everyone who helped, donated, volunteered, participated or otherwise helped support HVPTO and our schools!

It is the last official issue of the HVS Surf Report for the 2025-26 school year. HVPTO wishes you and your family a happy, healthy summer – we’ll see you back in August. The first day of school for 2026-27 is Wednesday, August 19th.
To our 8th graders and our 8th grade families – it has been our pleasure to serve you on your journey through all the HVS campuses. We hope that we helped bring joy, wonder, and excitement to your education in Hermosa and look back fondly on Field Days, the Halloween Carnival, Field Trips, Lunch Clubs, Dolphin Dash, the Back to School Picnic, participating in middle school sports and extracurriculars, and more!

The annual Summer Sunset Parent Party is going old school! The party started as an end-of-the year gathering in 2017 at The Deck – and we are throwing it back. Join your fellow parent/guardians at The Deck on Friday, June 5 from 6 – 9 pm. Wear your best summer white clothing and enjoy dinner, beer and wine. Tickets available now at the HVPTO.com store.

As we approach the end of the school year, we need to start thinking about next year already! HVPTO is launching our annual 1st Day School Supplies fundraiser – you get to skip back to school shopping and dragging everything to school and HVTPO earns a little money – we call it a win/win!

It is a busy week across our HVS schools! It is Staff Appreciation Week – we’ve got lots planned to make our staff feel the love! And you can get in on the action by reaching out, sending notes, and otherwise letting that special staff person know what they mean to you and your kid.
