It’s Dolphin Dash week!! Dolphin Dash kicks off at Vista on Wednesday, followed by View on Thursday, and Valley on Friday.  Finish those registrations, sign up to cheer your kiddo on, and get ready to run!

Read Across America week is THIS week from March 2nd – 6th! This year we have expanded the program so ALL grades from preschool through 8th grade will enjoy this fun-filled week! We hope your child comes home with a fun story to tell about their Read Across America guest reader who inspired them to dream BIG! Highlights include:

View:

• Classes will welcome officers from the Hermosa Beach Police Department, Voice Over Actors who are the voices behind many of the student’s favorite animated shows, community leaders including the LA County Lifeguards, and even our very own Superintendent Dr. Wildes and HBCSD School Board President Cathy Barrow!

Vista:

• Everywhere you look (everywhere you go) on Hermosa Vista’s campus will be FULL of fun! 3rd and 4th graders will be graced with an assembly featuring actress Andrea Garber known for her iconic role as Kimmy Gibbler in Full House and Fuller House.
• The playground will be buzzing with excitement and spirit as the LA Galaxy Star Squad and LA Rams Cheerleaders will be at recess throughout the week!
• 2nd Grade was lucky to have kicked off Read Across America with Emmy-nominated and award-winning author Bethany Barton on Friday, February 27th. Bethany inspired the kids to love science and even brought a toilet paper cannon!

Valley:

• The talented actor, Mark Feuerstein, who has starred in The Baby-Sitters Club and Royal Pains will impart an important message to the 5th graders about being an upstander and humble hero.
• And finally the LA Kings members including hockey legend Daryl Evans, the Ice Crew and Mascot Bailey will be at an assembly for 6th – 8th grades! We are grateful for the talented KC Campbell, owner of VOX DJs, who will provide the beats and extra energy at our assemblies.
