DESCRIPTION:Parents of kindergarten-aged children in Hermosa Beach are invited to a special orientation meeting at 5pm on Wednesday\, February 5\, in the Valley School multi-purpose room at 1645 Valley Drive.  Parents will have the opportunity to learn about Hermosa Beach City School District’s kindergarten program and meet the school principal. \nTo be eligible for the program\, parents must be Hermosa Beach residents with a child turning 5 years old between September 2 and December 2\, 2020 for transitional kindergarten (TK) or turning 5 years old before September 1\, 2020 for kindergarten.  These programs currently take place at Hermosa View School. \nDue to the format and length of the orientation\, attendance is limited to adults only.  Registration will not occur at this event but the registration process will be discussed.

SUMMARY:North School Traffic Management Plan Community Workshop #2
DESCRIPTION:Join the City of Hermosa Beach and the Hermosa Beach City School District for a community meeting to discuss the development of a Neighborhood Traffic Management Plan for the area surrounding North School. The Neighborhood Traffic Management Plan is an iterative plan to identify operational traffic concerns on streets adjacent to the North Elementary School site and methods to manage those concerns accordingly. The purpose of the plan is to improve pedestrian\, bicycle\, and vehicular safety; enhance quality of life for surrounding land uses caused by speeding vehicles and careless drivers and help the City and School District prioritize limited resources. \nThe community meeting takes place on Tuesday\, December 3\, 2019 from 6:30pm to 8pm in the Multi-Purpose Room at Valley School (1645 Valley Drive).

Sponsored by South Bay Families Connected\, speaker Alex Gray will visit our campus to talk about the realities of this unhealthy trend. South Bay Families Connected and Alex Gray have been visiting schools all over the South Bay to help make an impact and “turn the tide” on vaping in our community. We would like to open this assembly to 7th and 8th grade parents who are available to attend. The assembly will take place on 11/13 at 11:20am in the Hermosa Valley MPR.
